I am lucky to live in the beautiful county of Devon near the sea with my husband and our two oriental cats.

Following a career in retailing I came to clay late in life and recently completed a part time ceramic sculpture course at Plymouth College of Art and Design. The moment I touched this facinating medium I was hooked and now I can't leave it alone!

I use various stoneware clays which when dry are biscuit fired to 1000 degrees. The next stage is to colour them with oxides and stains, they are then glazed and fired again to produce the finished piece. The whole process takes many hours to complete and each sculpture is unique with its own individual character.

Why greyhounds? A few years ago my attention was drawn to the plight of these beautiful dogs, some ex racers, some just unwanted, and the fact that they can become victim to the most appalling abuse. Since then I have supported their various rescue organisations whenever I can.
