I am lucky to live in a village in a beautiful part of South Devon, close to the sea. I love to see the dogs playing on the beach and to watch the birds and wildlife to be found on and around the estuaries.

Following a career in retailing I came to clay late in life and have recently completed a two year part time ceramics course at Plymouth College of Art. The moment I touched this facinating medium I was hooked and now I can't leave it alone!

I use various stoneware clays and when they are dry they are "biscuit" fired to 1000 degrees. The next stage is to colour them with oxides and stains, they are then glazed and fired again to 1100 degrees which produces the finished piece. The whole process takes many hours to complete and each piece is individual with its own particular character.

Why greyhounds? A few years ago my attention was drawn to the plight of these beautiful dogs, some ex racers others just unwanted, and the fact that they can become victim to the most appalling abuse. Since then I have supported their various rescue organisations when I can and selling on this website will enable me to donate a proportion of each piece sold to help with their care.
